Choo Choo Quilters June 17 meeting

Our next meeting will be Monday, June 17, and the program will be presented by Team Dawn.  They will be showing us Stash-Busting Quilt Techniques.  Anyone with a scrap quilt is invited to bring their quilt in for show and tell.

And as a reminder, don't forget:

  • Bring in your Brown Bag Quilt and we'll have a new bag for you!
  • The deadline for the Quilts of Valor blocks is this month, so make those blocks up and bring them to the meeting.  We will be mailing them to the Tennessee coordinator next week.
See you there!

Our May meeting recap

Kokopelli quilt
Our May meeting was a grand time, with many quilts to show and tell.   As usual, our members had a variety of project they had been working on and we're always glad to see what everyone has done.

Here's some of the items from show and tell:
A completed quilt from a rescued quilt top

She has been busy!

A completed cuddle quilt

The center block is a machine embroidery piece.

Our program, presented by Team Beverly, was a demonstration of a quilt as you go hexagon - and this would be the start of the block.

And this would be the completed block.  The same technique can be used to make a square or rectangular piece, like the placemat shown underneath the hexagons.

And we even had a special visit form Spencer, our mascot/therapy dog!  What a handsome guy.
Join us for our next meeting on June 17th!
